In 1899–1900, while intensively preparing for the Paris World’s Fair of 1900, Celda Klouček and his students at the School of Applied Arts in Prague (V. Mařan, J. Klimeš, M. Tolar, F. Kulhánek, R. Hameršmíd, and J. Šebor) created a collection of several dozen vases, jardinières, and bowls. Only a few of their pieces were selected for the school’s exhibit in Paris, and the majority of ceramic works were given to the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague after the expo. But due to Klouček’s positive relationship with Pilsen and his friendship with museum director Josef Škorpil, in 1901 the Museum of Decorative Arts in Pilsen also acquired a unique collection of several vases which were exhibited or made for Paris.
